Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT DOES A HOME INSPECTION INCLUDE?
A Next Level Home inspection will include examination of the foundation/basement/crawlspace, roof, attic, electrical and plumbing systems, heating and water systems as well as the general condition of the structure itself. Most importantly we will look for poor construction practices and make note of any repairs that might be required or any general maintenance issues. Lastly, we will communicate our findings to you and include in our report any fire and safety issues that need to be addressed.
WHY SHOULD I HAVE A HOME INSPECTION?
Here are a few key reasons. Buying a home is a significant investment that requires careful consideration. Along with the important factors of location, schools, distance to work, sports, taxes, crime rate and so forth, the physical condition and how the components of the system are operating must be evaluated. This is where an unbiased professional inspector can offer critical information. We can validate that everything is in proper working order or repairs are needed that can possibly be negotiated. We believe that we position clients to make educated and sound decisions. The American Society of Home Inspectors Association (ASHI) conducted an extensive nationwide study that stated the returned value of a home inspection at just over $1,500. Being that the average fee for an inspection is around $400, this is not only a great value, but it provides our clients with peace of mind and possibly some negotiating for needed repairs.
WHEN WILL I GET MY REPORT?
Here at Next Level Home Inspections we pride ourselves in providing the most comprehensive, detailed report containing photos, infrared images, and any issues you need to know as the homeowner, buyer, or seller. You will receive your complete report within 24 hours from the time of inspection via email.
DO I HAVE TO ATTEND THE INSPECTION?
No, you do not have to attend the inspection, but we encourage all our clients to attend because this is an opportunity for you to take a look at your dream home with a certified professional who can answer any questions you may have. This is a great time for you to learn where the water, gas, and electrical shutoffs are, how to maintain certain systems, and identify and communicate any hazards or safety concerns. If you are not able to attend the inspection, don’t worry the report will show the location of those items listed above. Also, you may certainly call us for any questions or concerns you may have.
HOW LONG IS A TYPICAL INSPECTION?
A typical inspection will last anywhere from 3-4 hours. This is dependent upon the homes age, condition, size, and foundation type. Rest assured that Next Level Home Inspections will stay onsite until we have fulfilled our obligation and thoroughly evaluated the home and its components.
WHAT IS A HOME INSPECTION?
A Next Level Home inspection is an unbiased, non-invasive, visual inspection of a property and its major components.
